Do you remember Johannes Svensson?

My family tree as it relates to my Lekvattnet ancestry:

Sven Halvardsson came to Stensgårds Utskog in Lekvattnet in 1842. He came from Uvdal, Buskerud, Norway, where he was born on 2 June 1817. His parents were Halvor Svendsen and Thuri Knudsdatter. In 1844 he moved to Norra Lekvattnet where he was listed in the 1840-1844 Husförhörslängen as "måg drang Sven Haldvardsson" in the household of Arne Ersson and wife Karin Jonsdotter. He married their daughter Johanna Arnesdotter on 20 October 1844. She was born on 7 July 1822 in Norra Lekvattnet. Her parents Arne and Karin were from Brandvol, Hedmark, Norway.

Johanna's brothers and sisters (some born at Elvbacken in Norra Lekvattnet, where the family lived) were:

1. Erik Arnesson, born 31 August 1819 and married Marit Olsdotter.
They lived at Mattila in Norra Lekvattnet. 

2. Martha Arnesdotter, born 7 February 1825 and married Anders Henriksson.They lived at Ärila (Spistorp) in Norra Lekvattnet 

3. Anders Arnesson 

4. Karin Arnesdotter, born 15 October 1832. She married Sigfrid Henricksson.They had a son Anders Sigfridsson, who married Annika Olofsdotter of Lebiko in Hvitkärn in Lekvattnet.Annika's parents were Olof Olsson and Marit Jönsdotter.

Sven Halvardsson and Johanna Arnesdotter moved to Bråten farm in Bredsjön, Lekvattnet in 1846. They moved to Stensgårds Utskog by 1851, where they lived for many years. Sven died in Lekvattnet on 19 February 1891. Johanna died in Lekvattnet on 23 January 1891.

Sven Halvardsson and Johanna Arnesdotter had nine children, four of whom died in childhood. The children who lived to adulthood were:

1. Helleck Svensson, born 27 October 1848 at Bredsjön in Lekvattnet. He married Karolina ("Karin") Nilsdotter on 29 December 1888 in Linsell, Jämtland, Sweden. Karin was born on 1 May 1858 at Bråten in Åsteby, Vitsand. Her parents were Nils Bengtsson and Marit Persdotter, both of whom were born and raised at Åsteby in Vitsand. Helleck and Karin had six children, one of whom was Karl Hellecksson, born 8 March 1888 in Linsell. He moved to Michigan in the United States in 1903 and changed his name to Carl Swanson. Carl Swanson was my grandfather. Carl married Jenny Karlström, who was from Ångermanland, Sweden and they had one son and two daughters, all born in Minnesota: Leonard, Alice and Betty Jean. Leonard Swanson was my father (he died in October 2005).

2. Anders Svensson, born 14 September 1851 at Rastorp in Stensgårds Utskog in Lekvattnet. He had a daughter Signe Maria Andersdotter, who I believe is buried in the Lekvattnet churchyard with the name Signe Andersson on her headstone. Anders moved to Michigan and changed his name to Andrew Swanson.

3. Mathilda ("Tilda") Svensdotter, born 6 September 1857 at Orasfall in Stensgård Utskog in Lekvättnet. She married and moved to Minnesota, where she had two daughters and one son.

4. Carolina ("Lena") Svensdotter, born 16 August 1862 at Orasfall in Stensgård Utskog in Lekvättnet. She married Carl Robert Bruse of Rattsjöberget in Vitsand, Värmland and they moved to Minnesota where they were known as Lena and Carl Bruce. They had three sons and two daughters.

5. Johannes Svensson, born 10 January 1868 at Orasfall in Stensgård Utskog in Lekvättnet. He moved to Michigan and changed his name to John Swanson.He was married and had three daughters.

I hope this gives you the information you need. I have a lot more information than what I gave here. I also have old photographs and home movies of Lekvattnet from the 1940's and 1950's that my grandparents took when they visited in 1949 and 1955. I also have a few photographs of my Lekvattnet relatives from more than a hundred years ago.
