Lekvattnets parish

This beautiful wood church was inaugurated in the year 1853. The first sermon was held 1850 from the scaffolds in the church.
The existing wood church was mainly built 1850-53, it is the first church on this site.

The church was built under the direction of builder Nils Olsson from Västra Ämtervik and consisted of the wide opening of rectangular long houses
sections complete with choir area and vest towers.
The Sakristia was built 1933 in east, in connection with a big restoration A entrance in west and in the middle of the long house's south side.
The church's wooden walls are made with standing panel, as well outside and inside are broken by a rectangular door and window openings.
The red church's exterior has beautiful windows and lantern in plaster, with simple, klassiserande details.
 The church room is covered with three nice paintings.
The original colors of the altar and the pulpit, both baroque work acquired from Sunne church, was reconstructed in 1933. The church room's current
color was added at the restoration in 1977 and connects to older colors. 
The altar from 1697 and pulpit from 1670 had earlier belonged to Östra Ämterviks church.

Historic notes.

The priest of Lekvattnets is  Keinth Lundqvist.

He is born in Munkfors parish in the year 1951 and he is the 19th in the row of priests in Lekvattnet.
Keinth was baptized in 1984 and married the same year with Maria Gullan formerly Larsson.
They have a daughter Julie Maria Kristina born 1987.
Keinth started as a priest in Eda parish, after nine months he moved to Lekvattnet parish where he still lives and is very popular with everyone, especially the youngergeneration.
Keinth is a big animal friend and the family has several domestic animals, schäfern Rosita, the poodle Snobben, the cat Kälen and nine hens that contribute with eggs to the family's breakfast.
